Shoalhaven water has a wide range of tricks to sustainably mange our and there water supply. They have 6 dams, 13 wastewater treatment plants and 4 filtering treatment plant.
The three dams that they have are Porters Creek dam this dam provides 30% of the water for southern Shoalhaven, Tallowa dam, Nepean, Avon, Warragamba and Yallwal these dams are the water resource for the Shoalhaven with the average size of a 20 m high and 15m long causeway and a capacity of about 2000 mega litres.
All of this water is put through a water filtering system before it goes through your pipes and there is 4 water filtering plants in the Shoalhaven area Baramarang, Milton, Flatrock and Kangaroo Valley. They all have few different ways of filtering the water. In the Kangaroo Valley plant they use the new Memtic system which uses membrane technology in a microfiltration system this system does not use chemicals.
Shoalhaven water also has 13 waste water plants in Bendalong, Berry, Bombaderry, Callala, Culburra, Huskinson, Kangaroo Valley, lake Conjola, Milton/Ulladulla, Nowra, Shoalhaven heads, st Georges basin, Sussex inlet, these plants. These plants have a three step treatments system removing all of the sewerage and pollution. After treatment it is pumped out into the ocean.
