WATER POVERTY
Indian is amazing country but there is one problem with their infrastructure they haven’t got a proper water system. With a population of around 1 billion people they desperately need fresh water. 63% of India’s population live in the country and farming and agriculture is what they do for a living. But India is in drought and they have been in drought for three years and the rain is not coming, normally India has a dry season and a monsoon season. India has a large middle and lower class and this impacts on education. Without education India’s people do not know that there water is filthy and that they shouldn’t put sewerage or wash in it. Most people are drinking this water, without boiling or filtering it so thousands of people are getting sick from drinking contaminated water.they may know it is filthy but they still have no other option. These people also have bad living conditions many of them are living in shacks on the streets made out of anything they can find which is mainly tin and cardboard.
India has been trying to overcome their water poverty but the sad thing is that the upper class in India have total access to water. Allot of the water that people drink is from water trucks or trains the vehicles are filled with water and have about 10 hoses attached to them but this is a very unreliable system some people only get fresh water every few weeks or even months and almost half of the water ends up on the ground in the stampede clearly this is not a very good system.
India’s government is trying to overcome this problem by installing public taps but a lot of this water is being illegally sabotaged and locked so people then have to pay to collect water from these supposedly public taps this water stealing is happening a lot and it needs to be stopped.
In conclusion India is trying to overcome the water issue but with poverty and drought it is really hard and they need help
